SUV Allegedly Hits Another Car and a Bicyclist
The SUV then reportedly continued down Fourth Avenue where it struck another car. The SUV then allegedly stuck a bicycle and rider. The bicyclist ended up on to the roof of the SUV. The bicyclist remained there for about one block before being thrown to the street. Responding officers pronounce the bicyclist dead at the scene.
Three Passengers Hurt in Über Vehicle
All three rear-seat passengers in the Über vehicle sustained injuries. The FDNY reports that two of them required transport to an area hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Authorities closed an eight-block-long stretch of Fourth Avenue after the multiple accidents.
Although authorities continue to investigate this fatal event, it is possible for victims of traffic accidents to seek compensation when it is reasonable to claim that negligence is a factor. In such cases, it is possible to seek monetary damages for certain medical expenses, pain-and-suffering and lost wages. When a death occurs, it is possible for survivors to pursue compensation for burial expenses and loss of companionship.
